5 September 2018 CTI wins prestigious NPO Award
The Edo Nihonbashi Boat Tour, operated and planned by CTI as a member of Consortium of Rediscovery Edo-Tokyo Tourism Walk (CREW), has won the Construction for Civil Society Award 2018.
The annual awards by the Civil NPO Collaboration Platform (CNCP) recognize construction-related projects which add social value and improve public engagement with the industry.
As a member of CREW, CTI has been hosting the river boat tour since 2008. Based in Nihonbashi (a stones-throw from CTI headquarters) the tour is conducted by an electric boat, seating 10 people and guided by CTI staff with their wealth of knowledge of urban development and infrastructure along the river. Passengers can enjoy river views through Tokyo whilst learning about the development history of the city and the role and importance of infrastructure. Each year, between 1,500 and 2,000 people take part in the river boat tours, which are composed of six cruises, each lasting between an hour and an hour and a half.
CNCP particularly commended CTI’s boat tour for its excellent contribution to local community engagement, the guidance and insight provided by CTI staff to further public understanding of infrastructure, and its business originality.
