
WORLD CONGRESS ON URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE IN DEVELOPING COUNTIRES

A Non Governmental International Organization founded in 1968 under the auspices of UNESCO, the WFEO bring together over 15 million engineers from more than 90 countries around the world. The WFEO provides guidance and information, creates opportunities for worldwide exchanges of knowledge and technologies; creates venues where international organizations, governments, engineering and consulting organizations come together to exchange experiences and form new relationships.
The Chairman of CTI Engineering Dr. Yumio ISHII has been the chief representative of Japan for the WFEO since 2004, and is a member of the current executive council.

The World Congress on Urban Infrastructure in Developing Countries was held on the occasion of the General Assembly of the World Federation on Engineering Organizations (WFEO) in New Delhi, India from November 11 to November 16, 2007.
During this congress, CTI International Engineering Business Planning and Promotion Division General Manager Mr. Masakazu MAEDA, gave a presentation entitled "Creation of New Waterfront Environment through a Drainage Improvement Project in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia", explaining how through CTI consulting services, the urban areas of Phnom Penh, located around drainage channels and rivers, were improved, how green area were recovered and maintained, and at the same time flood control systems were upgraded.
Also, the Planning Office General Manager of the CTIE Research Center for Sustainable Communities, Mr. Kazumasa ITO, presented the "Development of International Exchange System for River Restoration Technology" .This presentation focused on the need to create several channels for countries to exchange experiences and knowledge, when undertaking the difficult and urgent task of river environmental restoration, with special emphasis on revitalization of rivers located in urban areas.
