River Situation before the Project
Infrastructure supervision
|
Metro Manila, the economic and political center of the Philippines, is situated in a semi-alluvial flood plain, facing Manila Bay in the west and Laguna Lake in the southeast. This area has a serious problem of habitual flooding.
To solve this problem, the project was implemented, starting in 1991. The major components are construction of lakeshore dike 9.5km long, 4 pumping stations, 8 floodgates and riparian structures, and Napindan River improvement works. It was completed in 2006.
CTI provided the construction supervision services for the project as well as consulting services at the Master Plan, Feasibility Study and Detailed Design stages.
