Metro Manila is the economic and political center of the Philippines, but had a serous problem of frequent flooding. The Laguna Lake located on a higher ground that the city, caused more destructive damage to the southeastern part due to the unusually long periods of inundation.
To solve this problem the Philippine Government implemented the construction of a 10 km long dike and 4 pumping stations for an area of 39 km2 with financial assistance from the Government of Japan. The Project finished in 2006, improving the life conditions in the city.
CTI provided the construction supervision services for the project as well as consulting services at the Master Plan, Feasibility Study and Detailed Design stages.
