In accordance with the request from the government of Nicaragua for the technical assistance for the maintenance and construction of new bridges along the No. 7 National Highway, studies were carried out to elaborate the construction plan that meets the requirements of Nicaragua, assuring that the road improvement works are implemented with all the environmental considerations needed.

Also, researches have been conducted for the current situation of Nicaraguan road administration and personnel capabilities; cost estimates, environmental effects, land usage, current social situation in the area and probable effects. The collected information is useful for future sustainable development of the community and surroundings.
