CTI developed this system for rainfall monitoring in areas where access is difficult and/or no electric service. The system, which was installed near Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, is currently in use.
This system features the use of an ordinary commercial satellites using "iridium" systems and solar batteries, thus obtaining easy, economical remote site data, without a physical connection. It is also easy to watch the obtained data on monitor with browsers from general providers.
