CTI Engineering Co., Ltd., in cooperation with the Center for Environmental Science in Saitama (CESS) and Watanabe Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Shinji Watanabe), has developed a real-time heat index information system that can help to prevent heat stroke.
This system utilizes the mechanisms of the RisKma water-related disaster risk mapping system, which was developed and rolled out by CTI Engineering, with new real-time heat index visualization and information delivery features based on data obtained from IoT heat index meters developed by Saitama Prefecture and Watanabe Seisakusho.
This initiative delivers observed data from IoT heat index meters installed in 30 locations in Saitama Prefecture to Saitama residents in real time via the Local Climate Change Adaptation Center in Saitama's Information Platform (SAI-PLAT). The system has also been designed to visually represent changes in heat distribution by combining this data with wind direction and wind speed data from the Japan Meteorological Agency. These features make it possible to promote heat stroke countermeasures based on accurate information about when and where the risk of heat stroke is high.
In the future, we will continue to leverage our expertise in the field of disaster prevention to expand information infrastructure that supports the safety and security of people's lives.
