Development History

We provide a brief history of the company, from its founding years to its incorporation as a joint-stock company and through to the present day.

  • Aug. 1945 The Construction Technique Institute (Zaidan Hojin Kensetsu Gijutsu Kenkyujo) is founded as the first consulting engineer in Japan.
    Apr. 1963 The company is incorporated as the Construction Technology Institute Co., Ltd. (Kensetsu Giken KK) in Ginza-nishi (now Ginza 3-chome), Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
    Feb. 1964 The company changes its name to CTI Engineering Co., Ltd. (Kensetsu Gijutsu Kenkyujo KK).
    Dec. 1964 CTI Engineering Co., Ltd. is registered as a civil engineering consultant by the Ministry of Construction (now the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism).
    May. 1994 The company registers its shares with the Japan Securities Dealers Association as over-the-counter stock.
    Oct. 1996 The company lists its shares on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
    Mar. 1999 CTI Engineering International Co., Ltd. (Kensetsu Giken International KK) is established.
    Jun. 1999 The company’s shares are listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
    Apr. 2002 The Research Center for Sustainable Societies (Kokudobunka Kenkyujo) is established.
    Jun. 2006 Japan Urban Engineering Co., Ltd. (formerly the Fukuoka Land Readjustment Association) begins operations.
    Oct. 2010 Chi-ken Sogo Consultants Co., Ltd. begins operations.
    May. 2015 The CTI Engineering Group’s mid- to long-term vision “CLAVIS 2025.” is formulated.
    Jul. 2015 Environmental Research & Solutions Co., Ltd. begins operations.
    Nov. 2015 NISSOKEN Architects/Engineers begins operations.
    Jun. 2017 Waterman Group Plc begins operations.
    July. 2020 Acquired additional shares of CTI Engineering International Co., Ltd. to make it a wholly owned subsidiary.
    June. 2021 The company establishes the CTI Engineering Group’s mid- to long-term vision “SPRONG 2030.” is formulated.
    Jan. 2023 CTI Ascend Co., Ltd is established.
