The 30by30 Alliance is a Japanese public–private–civil collaboration established to promote the achievement of the 30by30 target—conserving 30 percent of land and marine areas by 2030—through the advancement of OECM certification (Secretariat: Ministry of the Environment, Japan). The CTI Engineering Group contributes to this initiative through biodiversity conservation activities at its facilities and green spaces.
OECM (Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures) refers to an international concept describing areas that, while not legally designated as protected areas such as national parks, effectively and sustainably conserve biodiversity over the long term. In Japan, such areas are certified by the Ministry of the Environment as “Nature Coexistence Sites,” and certified sites are registered as OECMs in the international database.
