Approach to Sustainability

The CTI Engineering Group defines its business philosophy as “Challenging to create a safe, comfortable, and enriching society using world-class technology and expertise.” Our Code of Corporate Conduct, which sets forth management norms, identifies sustainability as one of its fundamental concepts and pledges to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society.
Through our corporate activities, we will fulfill our corporate social responsibility, solve social issues, and foster and protect a culture that people cherish. In doing so, we aim to realize the sustainable development of both society and the Group. We consider sustainability to be the implementation of the Code of Corporate Conduct to enhance the Group’s corporate value in the medium to long term in parallel with realizing the sustainable development of society.

Governance on sustainability

We have developed a governance system by establishing the Sustainability Committee (Chairperson: Representative Director and President, CEO) at the same level as Management Meeting and incorporating sustainability into our management issue scheme. The Sustainability Committee deliberates on policies related to research, technology development, human resource training, and other contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building a sustainable community. Decisions are made on key matters following deliberations at the executive officers’ meeting and the Board of Directors’ meeting.

Governance on sustainability

The Sustainability Committee has established the Green Investment Strategy Working Group, which oversees the environment, and the Well-Being Promotion Council, which oversees human capital, as subordinate committees responsible for specific promotion and implementation. These committees collect, analyze, evaluate, implement, and monitor information related to the environment and human capital in particular, identify issues on a regular basis, and review countermeasures after deliberation by the Sustainability Committee.

The Risk Management Committee identifies critical risks based on the scale of damage and frequency of occurrence and implements risk management. The committee also monitors the status of implementation, identifies issues, and reviews risks and countermeasures. The Sustainability Committee and the Risk Management Committee share information and collaborate on key risks related to sustainability issues.
